Responsible Gaming at bwin

At bwin, we are committed to promoting responsible gaming in line with §§ 13-16 of the Czech Act 186/2016 Coll. on Gambling. Our mission is to prevent gambling-related harm by providing tools and resources that encourage safe gambling practices. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to gaming, understanding the importance of responsible gaming can help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

What responsible gaming means

Responsible gaming refers to strategies and policies designed to mitigate the risks associated with gambling. It emphasises the importance of playing within one's means, understanding the risks involved, and having access to tools that help manage gambling behaviour. By fostering a responsible gaming environment, both operators and players contribute to reducing the potential for gambling-related harm.

Warning signs of problem gambling

  • Increasing frequency and amount of bets to maintain excitement.
  • Chasing losses in an attempt to recover money.
  • Neglecting personal or professional responsibilities in favour of gambling.
  • Experiencing financial difficulties due to gambling habits.
  • Hiding or lying about gambling activities.
  • Feeling restless or irritable when attempting to cut down or stop gambling.
  • Using gambling as a means to escape problems or relieve feelings of anxiety or depression.
  • Borrowing money to fund gambling activities.

Self-limit tools available on our platform

Deposit limit (daily/weekly/monthly)

Players can set deposit limits to control the maximum amount they can deposit within a specified period. This helps prevent excessive spending.

Bet and loss limit

Set limits on the amount you can bet or lose, ensuring that your gambling activities remain within a manageable range.

Session time limit and reality check

Time limits can be established to manage the duration of your gaming sessions, coupled with reality checks that provide regular updates on time spent.

Time-out (24h / 7d / 30d)

Players can take a short break from gambling through time-out options, ranging from 24 hours to 30 days, allowing for reflection and reassessment of gambling habits.

Self-exclusion

In accordance with § 16 of the Czech Act 186/2016 Coll., self-exclusion is a powerful tool that allows players to voluntarily exclude themselves from gambling activities. This can be set for a minimum period of one month, extending to six months, one year, or indefinitely (at least two years).

Czech Self-Exclusion Register (Rejstřík vyloučených osob - RVO)

Maintained by the Ministry of Finance (MF ČR), the RVO is a national register for individuals who wish to exclude themselves from gambling at all licensed operators in the Czech Republic. Registration can be completed via the Citizen Portal, a data box, or by submitting an application directly to the Ministry of Finance. More information is available at rejstrik-her.financnisprava.cz.

Protection of minors

We strictly prohibit the participation of individuals under the age of 18 in gambling activities, in compliance with § 46 of the Czech Act 186/2016 Coll. Our robust age verification processes ensure that minors are protected from exposure to gambling.

Gambling self-assessment test

If you're concerned about your gambling habits, consider the following self-assessment questions inspired by the Problem Gambling Severity Index (PGSI):

  1. Do you bet more than you can afford to lose?
  2. Have you ever felt the need to gamble with larger amounts to achieve the same excitement?
  3. Do you neglect work or other responsibilities due to gambling?
  4. Have you tried to reduce or stop gambling without success?
  5. Do you feel anxious or guilty after gambling?
  6. Have you borrowed money to fund your gambling?
  7. Do you gamble to forget your worries or problems?
